Hope you like what I've done with this. It's taken with my broken Sigma 18-50. Unfortunately I cannot quite get infinity focus at the wider end.

nice composition, sharp image...the tone looke a little flat though. What f-stop did you use? The focus is not as important at something like f/18

It was f3.2. I was trying to push the background out of focus, but in hindsight I'd have gone for a smaller aperture and built the foreground into the shot more as some of the reeds are out of focus too.

Yes, it is a little flat. I tried to desaturate it and play around, but couldn't get it any better.

I like it but I think your right about bringing the bg into the picture.

I was trying to isolate the reeds, but still don't understand how to set my hyperfocal distances. Oh, to have an iphone!
