i was annoying my colleagues with photos today.

just trying to take a sharp well lit piccy and balance the sky with a bit of fill flash.

any tips, tricks, cheats, hints, pointers, advice etc very gratefully received

Very punchy shots nice DoF on all of them althought the BGs look better in the first 3, good eye contact in them all too (aoart from the guy with shades).

Well you managed that ok :) those first 3 are fantastic with real oomph!

The 4th is in the shade compared to the 1st 3!

i tweaked the shots in lightroom

to give you an idea, this is a straight un-manipulated raw to jpeg

but basically i boosted clarity, vibrancy and contrast,
