At a soaking wet Elland Road last night i put the new D3's through it's paces for the first time and it performed flawlessly, AF was blistering fast, Tracking did what it was supposed to do and stick to the subject like 3 week old Dog Crap, and all this with no setting up of the AF system, i took it out of the box 24 hours earlier and it just works.

All shot between ISO 4,000 to 6,400

your canon shots looked better!

aww come on.. I had to haha :)

very impressive mate as allways it was beyond me why you ever switched back in the first place Gary.

Great shot, 2 and 3 look like they were in sequence, but reversed here on the forums :)

Heres some links to higher res versions with exif intact, these are 7x5inch @ 300ppi and are exactly as i sent them out to the papers

Bear in mind the attrocious conditions and lighting at Elland road

1 Jamie Peacock, this is about a 50% crop

2 Jesse Bromwich, again, about 50% filled the frame

3 Celebration, about 70% of the frame

4 Todd Lowrie, about 50-60 of frame

5 Aiden Tolmen, quite a severe crop, about 30% of frame

Great set, what lens did you use for these Gary ? incidentally my dad is a Wigan fan all because he spent time in the army with a wigan player in the 60's lol.

i've just played spot the difference and it looks exactly the same to me, you can see the ball is in exactly the same position and there is a small speck of mud, level with the name on the back of the Storm players Top

Hope you don't mind but here's your with there's superimposed on top.
Looks like 100% your image.

Cheers Ron, and the sneaky sods have just cropped out the bit of flying mud which would have made it even more obvious. just need to check rlphotos haven't sold the photo on before i take any action.

Just an update, several of my images were sold onto Melbourne Storm, i spoke to Dave at rlphotos last night and he said he sold them on via his website so i get a cut, you really have to be eagle eyed though to see where they end up or you could miss out.
