I think this is Pedissequum. Either way, probably one of the most vibrant hovers out there. This one feasting on a Begonia (I think)

Thanks all :D.

I keep on forgetting about the countryfile competitions. Will have a look :)

I definitely need to get myself some kind of flash system! Trying to rely on natural light is rather difficult when you need smaller apertures :(

Nice shots :D

Thanks Etiennne.

I use a Canon Speedlite 430 EX II however, I also have a Yongnuo YN-560 III flash which only cost £50 (not sure what it would be in your local currency but they're very cheap in comparison to Canon and still very good).

It doesn't have ETTL so you would need to use full manual flash but either way, combine that with some decent diffusion and you can light your subjects nicely.

Yeah I've been tempted by the Yongnuo stuff but if I do buy one, I think I'll wait for that new super duper one they announced about a year ago! Should be nice when that comes out.

Also, I'm just about to spend too much money on a lens so the flash might have to wait a bit longer hehe

Superb especially the second hover and great lighting on the vine weevil

Cheers Pete :)
