Critique Yellowhammer (edit added)

Does this idea make any sense Russ?
…just don't see the artefact of the jpg!

Thanks Daniel - it's certainly a different rendition you have created in your edit:
- more contrast
- sharper
- darker
- a blue sky (but it was a grey day)

So what did you do in PP to create your version? And I'm not clear what you mean by:

Seems as if there's a green banding above the bird on my monitor for Kodiak edit. Perhaps that's what he means by artefacts?

Given it was a bright day with a thin layer of high fog or
clouds, nevertheless both have no colour of their own but
a very high reflection index. One may rightfully conclude
that both, whichever, were blinding and blue.

— I checked the DRL… was pretty ok
— tamed the mid tones… that revealed the sharpness and
the richer tones
— I managed to pull off more mid tones from the sky as to
reduce the blinding effect and the blue took very naturally
its place in the scene.

I used no saturation nor sharpening slider (…don't ever!)
If you look, Russ, at your original, you will see that the sky
is not grey but blueish.
