Had a drive out to York with the missus and found this little alley. Shows promise I thought. Bellow is the before shot and then a bit of editing in CS5:)

Now I like it but what do you experts think? does it work.

Much improved, a new sky would help as well e.g. a black sky to indicate night or something dramatic.

Last, though not perfect, is much better as the original processed edit was just too light to go with the illuminated lamp :)

Thank you all for the positive comments, my PP work does suffer as I am partially sighted and registered disabled so it is most welcome the critique and feedback from all.(y)
 
Excellent work Steve - really like the street lamp effect.

My only "even better if" would be to darken the house facing you looking down the alley as it looks too light compared to the darkness in the foreground and you'd expect it to be more equal? (hope that makes sense?}
