managed to get these shots of a young Wagtail trying to get fed, Mum didnt seem impressed, amazing how they transform from this ball of fluff into the very elegant adult

What fantastic shots. The detail is belting.
 
Lovely images David, my only thought is that #3 looks a little soft on the head. If you cannot rescue it then I would be tempted bin it as you have some other good ones.

Dai I agree no 1 is the best of the bunch and for me the best shot I have taken since starting bird photography 3 months ago, so hopefully improving:woot::woot:

Rich you are as usual correct,:notworthy::notworthy::notworthy: No 3 is soft around the face, but liked the wings, will dump it as don't have photoshop to correct, was trying the 1.4 TC with manual focus on the 100 -400 zoom, its ok but to many are not sharp, still saving for the 600 prime.:banana::banana:

#1 for me the low pov and composition +deth of field all work well in the image (y) You are doing well for only 3 months bird photography keep up the good work (y)
