Been looking for a fisheye lens for my 40D and also been looking at the fisheye lens adapters. I really wanted a canon fisheye but I'm too tight to fork out what they're asking for there lens. The adapters just look awfully cheap and so was reluctant to try one of those...so I ended up going for the Russian made Zenitar-m 16mm. I've seen good reviews about the lens and it has some good write-ups but I think it was the price which did it for me in the end.

Anyone own one and wants to give me their opinion?

cheers

16mm isn't going to give you much of a fisheye effect on a cropped sensor. Although the specs say that it gives a 180 dgrees field of view, that's on full frame - once you crop it down to the size of your 40D sensor it'll just give you a slightly distorted wide angle view.

The review I read recently said that it was soft at less than f/16.
