Yes
I'm not sure where people store their kit but I have been... well, let's say "encouraged"... by Mrs Pjm1 to put my kit in a single place rather than cluttering up the house with chargers, lenses and lighting gear. Fair enough and to be fair, it's a sensible idea.

The issue I had was chucking things in a drawer would make things harder to find and, well, the drawers would need to be deep to accommodate bigger stuff like a beauty dish or mains head and would then lose small stuff like wireless triggers. So I headed to my least favourite place in the world, Ikea, and bought a Stuva cupboard and some front-less drawers. I had some medium density foam lying around from a previous aborted project and decided to combine them:

That's two of the drawers (out of 5) made and foam cut out to fit inside the drawers and take each piece of gear. The top of the two drawers isn't bowed - I just didn't cut the foam very straight  :$

The bottom wire draw contains a plugged-in 4 bar with my various battery chargers plugged in and ready to go. It's also a hand store for loose bits and pieces like the BD sock, grey card etc.

Externally it's a slightly taller version of this, so pretty wife-friendly:

I could have dispensed with the wardrobe style doors and just gone for fronted drawers, but I wasn't sure how deep I'd want each drawer and I have the flexibility to move them up and down if my kit changes. The only downside is the doors have to be open perfectly perpendicular in order for the drawers to slide out - although that's not a big hardship.

I'm going to tidy up that bottom wire basket drawer a bit (cable tie the 4 bar so it doesn't move) but once I have the other three drawers built and installed with foam I'll be sorted :)

The big kit (folded softboxes, light stands, tripod) all go in a normal under-stairs cupboard - I don't need as frequent access to those.

Anyway, I thought I'd share it since it was a pretty cost-effective solution to kit storage (brand new it was about £100 for the wardrobe and all the drawers) and seems to be wife-friendly so far :)
