A Camera Club member gave me a MINOLTA DYNAX 500 si about a year ago -- he was given it but did not want it. I have used it and show some test results -- the problem is that it is 'DX Coded' which cannot be set 'manually' so when I use 200 ASA outdated film I have to stick a paper label over the DX code on the film cassette to 'Fool' it to default to 100 ASA -- also there is a 'Minolta -only' hot shoe flash fitting and NO standard 3mm flash plug so I cannot use my studio flashes or my Mecablitz. The LENSES seem sharp enough but the 70-201mm Minolta AF Zoom 'hunts' badly to focus, quicker to set 'manual Focus' !
