    North England Lake district advice

Tarn Hows is also nice with well made-up paths and a short-ish walk around a small lake. lovely views all of the way round with forest / woodland and views over toward the Conniston fells too

Ennerdale water sunrise Now with added shot

Great shots, that water looks wild! I prefer the second one for the more muted colours.

    An Afternoon on Yr Aran

Thanks guys. I like the last one too, if for nothing else than it was first time I'd actually seen Snowdon. It was my 6th (I think) visit to the area, and I was beginning to think it was a myth! Personally though, my favourite is the 3rd shot. I really liked the patterns of light across the land.

I agree with this, I see why you like the bridge and I probably would have wanted it in too, but with it being in the bottom right corner it doesn't really lead you in - just my opinion though. They're both nice shots though

Where would you go if you had a free week?

For seascapes, I'd recommend the south west of Ireland. It's a bit of a trek and further afield than the other options, but the coast around the Dingle Peninsula is spectacular and well worth it in my opinion. If you're not familiar with the area, here's an example / shameless plug... [/url ]

    Sunrise on Higger Tor

Thanks for the reply and some very fair points. I agree, there was something bugging me about the second shot and now you say it, it's the foreground rocks that don't quite work. This is why I joined though, to learn and get feedback on my compositions, so it's much appreciated :-)

    Hello from Bury

I've just the forum so thought I'd say 'Hi'! I'm mainly into landscapes and, while there's plenty of countryside and moorland where I live I find it very hard to get inspired by it! So, I spend a lot of my shooting time in the Peak District, Snowdonia, Lake District or Scottish Highlands...
