Just looking at a d3400 on mbp can pick one up for a couple of hundred pounds so not too bad!

D3500 Live view black and no longer taking photos.

Managed to had a troubleshoot on it with a different lens... - live view shows a white screen, when I change the focal length, this displays random coloured lines on the screen (no image) - looking through the diopter I can see the lens focus etc. - taking a picture is a fully black image...

D3500 Live view black and no longer taking photos.

Unfortunately the camera isn't insured, weve had it for some time to be honnest, I did contact someone for repairs but advised they generally don't touch dslrs and most repair guys would charge £100 to even quote for it. I fully understand the complexity of the camera and I wouldn't be able to...

D3500 Live view black and no longer taking photos.

So one of my colleagues at work knocked the Tripod over with our d3500 on it. Unfortunately since this the camera is no longer taking photos. Sensor seems to be intact, mirror is operating, screen is working, however as soon as we drop into live view we get a white screen. As soon as we...

    Terrible wedding photos?

I will try to get some photos but reluctant to post at the moment as its been mentioned that if I am permitted to edit the photos one of the terms may be that I'm unable to post photos in comparison for example! Thanks for the advice! And I'll hopefully be able to get a decent set from the...

    Terrible wedding photos?

I'm hoping that the tiff files are a of a decent enough exposure that I have enough range to pull back the shadow detail... But the edits have had all of the shadow detail removed from them. So fingers crossed I'll get good tiffs!

    Terrible wedding photos?

I think my original concern was that the tiff files may have been the images which had been edited, exported as tiff files. (and some of the edits had no black detail in them) which I'd never be able to retrieve. However as you suggest it may just be the format the camera uses and the original...

    Terrible wedding photos?

Had some development with this... The bride and groom have messaged the photographer and explained why they are unhappy with the set of images... He has said that he will provide tiff images for editing, and also said "the jpegs are 100% and will edit no problem" Im actually even concerned...

    Terrible wedding photos?

On this topic I've actually spoken to a work colleague who has mentioned about me photographing his daughters wedding! Now I've initially said no as it's too much pressure and I'm not a professional... He's adement that there is no pressure as they were originally not going to get a...

    Terrible wedding photos?

They did actually use the same photographer for the actual wedding and the editing style does seem to be more severe than the original set of images. It almost seems like a preset has been applied but then no edits applied afterwards to correct the exposure or shadows where the image needs it.

    Terrible wedding photos?

My sister in law has recently had her wedding photos taken (it was the wedding reception as they had a lockdown wedding) When she's received these photos she's not happy with them at all... Some are massively under exposed. Some have been edited in a way thay the blacks have been crushed so...

Night sky photography help and advice required please

Hi Dave, Honest answer from someone who has been in your position, and does love astrophotography; I don't do it as much as I'd like... I purchased the 11-16mm Tokina lens, f2.8 and the difference between my 17mm f2.8 is amazing... so I would personally recommend something like this. -...

    Last nights Sunset

I was taking some photos prior to the sunset, had a little sit down for a few minutes and the light suddenly changed to this fantastic blue/purple tone with the warm hints of orange....

Creative photography when you can't get out.

I actually work from home, so I do have flexiblity with working, however my work ethic in working from home says i should be available between the hours of 8 and 5. So if I do work through lunch one day I will finish work at 4.00pm however I will still stay at home for the last hour. Its a...

Creative photography when you can't get out.

This is how I feel at the moment, and I always think 'there's always the next time' I have found though getting into a routine of trying to get out, you are able to get out more, but as soon as that routine stops its so hard to get back into.
