    St Mary's Lighthouse again

Thinking about the composition - it appears quite static. Would positioning the lighthouse slightly to the right worked better. I.e. moving the camera slightly to the left.

    Non UK Tenerife

I'd recommend Anaga mountains in the north. It has a more lively landscape with lots of vegetation compared to other areas. Rough cliffs are also nearby.

    12 bit v's 14

14 bit carries more precision (information). Rough analogy - think of 12 bit as rounded values. Inevitably 12 bit output will contain more pixels rounded to the black (0,0,0) value. 14 bit will contain values like (0.01, 0, 0.02)

Trip to Iceland , what gear?

Don't forget that at lower temperatures batteries charge depletes quicker. Bring several spares and keep them somewhere warm, like close to your body.

I'm with Plusnet and still on old crappy ADSL as BT refuses to upgrade my cabinet to fibre. No problems with Plusnet.
