Quick shots is all you have with these sensitive creatures.

No I was just sat out this afternoon and when I looked across at the table it was just landing on my light meter. Managed to get a couple of shots before it flew off and landed on one of the plants I was potting up. My favourite is the third photograph.

I think if one did they would all fall out.

The last time I got that close was a lot of years when two landed on my fishing rod. A beautiful little bird, and of course a fantastic shot.

No unfortunately through the kitchen window is my only option. I have other boxes out but unfortunately nothing nesting them. Had a wren nesting but even he's gone somewhere else for the moment. Thank you all for your advice, I will leave out the filter.

The box is just a meter from kitchen window which is the side which doesn't open. He's been shooting in and out for a week or more, and most times he doesn't stop for his photograph. I have tried to catch him form outside but failed. So the only way was taking this through the window. I did...
