The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

Cheers. I've been impressed with what the 10-18mm can do. I returned it and got a new one. Slightly soft bottom left but overall a significant improvement on the first lens. [emoji106]

The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

So I picked up the Sony 70-350mm today. I *think* I'm now happy with my lens setup. Here's a few shots from this evening's walk while I charged the car... Not the "best" pics in the world I'm sure; but I'm trying to add a bit more style into my pics, thinking more about composition etc...

Looking at getting a new bag to carry around my A6400, and a couple of lenses. I'd like something that's big enough to hold the camera with the 70-350 attached but still a small bag overall. Thinking backpack/sling bag rather than a messenger bag. Any recommendations please?

What's this high pitched ringing outside?

Thanks to everyone for your replies. It's just dawned on me this could be a deterrent as you suggest! We do have a local fox problem in our neighbourhood and a neighbour recently (suspectedly) lost a cat to one. I'll see if I can track down the source of the noise and tlak to the neighbours...

Hi all, Had a weird situation today on the new A6400... I took 7 photos of the local air ambulance landing. Based on the camera's default naming convention, the first one is in the correct order, but the next 6 are back to front. i.e. photo 2 is when the chopper is closest to the ground, working...

What's this high pitched ringing outside?

Haha no I have my tinfoil hat to protect me. ;) I should also mention this has been ongoing for days and is higher pitched than a smoke alarm or similar. It's almost inaudible (the wife can't hear it) but is definitely there.

What's this high pitched ringing outside?

Hi all. I'm looking for some help for suggestions to identify what could be the source of an intermittent high pitched ringing noise which occurs outside my house (it's not tinnitus). It is intermittent, occurring randomly but the noise is always the same. It's been going all morning today...

    £500 voucher from the government

I think I understand the intention but it's just something else that'll need to be paid back through taxes later... [emoji848] Assuming the total "bill" would be the value of the redeemed vouchers only, that would keep the cost down.

The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

I have another question please... I am about to pull the trigger on the Sony E 70-350mm f/4.5-6.3 G OSS whilst the £50 cashback is on, making it £780. However whilst watching YouTube reviews last night I noticed the forthcoming Sigma AF 100-400mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS Contemporary for £900. I want it...

So my new A6400 and replacement 10-18mm have arrived today. I am a very happy bunny! The 10-18 is a little soft in the bottom left but it is so much better than the last one. :D Just a couple of quick snaps. I know this isn't what the lens is suited to but I think the quality is great...

The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

For me it depends if they turn into the same effect as the digital zoom on some of the Sony lenses, vs still being a "clicky" dial. The tactile feedback and ability to not have the dial move at the slightest touch is key. Or a hybrid with a switch like what the G7X mkII lens can do. But, the...
