Astrophotographer Alyn Wallace has passed away

Such a shame. I followed his youtube channel from its first few videos when he was just a talented amateur and watched as he grew in reputation and knowledge. He helped me massively with my milky Way photography. Very sad. He was only young. I Wonder what happened.

    Beginner Northern Lights

Wide and fast. I took my fuji X-T3 (at the time) up to norway on a northern light trip. I got a Samyang 12mm F2 lens which was perfect. Got some great shots. Not sure if they do this lens or similar for Canon. Some good tips from Kell above. Key points for me are: 1. Practice camera...

I have the first generation 10-24mm and love it for landscapes. Its on my camera for 95% of the time as I love wide angle landscape photos. Its also been to New Zealand with me. PM me if you want any tips on cool photo locations. I use a Samyang 12mm F2 for wide angle astro stuff, but have also...

    Winters not done yet!

An early start (04:30) and a very hard slog in the ice up Red Screes was rewarded with some beautiful light on sunrise. Absolutely baltic on the tops. Timed the return just right as upon getting to the car the weather turned very quickly into dark grey snowstorms, and stayed like that all day...

    Some snowy mountain scenes

That middle one is a stunner. The atmosphere along with the interesting rock formations in the foreground make it.

    Northern Lights on Skye

Beautiful. I like the simple ones over the lake the best. I was lucky enough to see them more vivid than I ever imagined in Tromso, Norway, but Its on my bucket list to see them in the UK.

    Blackpool Sand Dunes

They are right at the end of the main strip. This photo was taken directly infront of the airport. Must have been 5 or 6 small planes that flew overhead on the 20 mins I was there. I didnt think it was used that much these days.

    Blackpool Sand Dunes

Thanks for the feedback. I was hoping there would be a dramatic sunset on the right of the frame to balance the photo, but it didnt really happen. That bank of cloud obscured it all. I will go back in the summer.

    Secluded Stream

Love finding little secluded streams and waterfalls. They don't have to be huge and epic to be beautiful. Fujifilm X-T5 and 10-24mm View: https://flic.kr/p/2ofpXnU View: https://flic.kr/p/2ofpdUw

Picked up an X-T5 as part of an X-T3 part ex a couple of weeks ago. Wilkinsons cameras gave a far better price for a good condition X-T3 compared to Jessops (£130 more!). Really enjoying the X-T5. Heard a few issues regarding autofocus but mine hasn't missed a beat. Far superior at eye...

    Crop sensor astro photography

Ive shot crop sensor Fuji cameras for years and done many astrophoto sessions. The new crop sensor Fuji cameras (X-T3-X-T5) and other brands I am sure are more than capable of any type of photography. 99.9% of people wont tell the difference. Tips to improve are: 1. Fast wide angle lens - I...
