Thanks guys. I went today. Nice light but no reflections. The wind seemed to be swirling.
But Stephen, you were bang on about Loch Achtriochtan. After 15 minutes looking for a decent record shot, all of a sudden, a crystal clear reflection
Never even heard of this place until tonight. I hope someone can help, as I'm near Glencoe in my tourer. Last full day tomorrow. Where can you park (I believe it's a single track road) and is it far to walk?
Is there a best time of day to go?
I'd be grateful for any info
Thanks again @HoppyUK. It was a horse outside, with a single light. So didn't want to be too close. Increasing the ISO a little worked. But I would have liked to have used a bigger softbox. Think I'll get one ;)
Thanks @HoppyUK was using my AD360 today and was a bit short of power. Not so bothered about TTL, so the original version of the AD600 seems a better option ;)
Hoping someone can help? In the original versions of the Godox AD600, I believe the bulb is set too far back in order to accomodate the Bowens mount, resulting in loss of light. When using the extension, does that suffer similarly, or is that ok?
Fine tuning did nothing for mine. I used the auto fine tune in the D500. Took 12 readings. Discarded the highest and the lowest. Took an average of the remaining 10. Get a value of +10. Still not happy, so bought Focal Pro. calibration with that gave a value of +9. I gave it every chance but...
Thanks to evryone whose helped on this thread. As far as the 200-500 is concerned, the issue is sample variation. I've got a new copy of this lens, and while its not as sharp as my long prime, I'm happy with this one. Here are a few shots
My improvement was much more rapid Mike. I sent the lens back and got a new copy which was delivered today. See my blue tit on the bottom of the previous page. Just to try the lens out while half hanging out of the bedroom window this afternoon ;)
The biggest problem was using potential user error as an excuse for the poor quality of the lens Mike. Should have sent it back after the first weekend.
I spent too long making excuses for it Mike. I went to Donna Nook, and I couldn't get fur detail on a static seal at 1/1000 and f8. Phoned SRS the next day.
Got the new 200-500 today. Massive difference to the last one. A shot from the bedroom window this afternoon. Will try it out properly over the weekend, but first impressions are good. Cropped to about 1/4 of the frame.
