    Hama, Sandisk, Kingston E620 CF

If you want 8gb cards, the Kingston Elite Pro (133x Write Speed And Upto 25mb/second Read) is a good value for money buy. I get mine from Ebuyer.com. The direct link is http://www.ebuyer.com/product/159043. I have bought thousands of pounds of stuff from Ebuyer and have never been let down.

    Outdoor portable power ?

I second that - any diy solution MUST produce a pure sine wave or you are asking for trouble.

    Sophie-Leanne 'Sci Fi' style

Here is a pic of a 'Sci Fi' style shoot with the model Sophie-Leanne Evans. Only scraps of materials and accessories were used - no post production special effects were used, apart from intentional blown out whites. I did, however, have the help of a top quality MUA! In the circumstances, I...

    Portable studio flash kit

If you know what you want, and take the time to check out the seller, there is nothing wrong with buying off Ebay. Half my lights, and most of my accessories were bought off Ebay with no problems at all.

Pic of Bonnie from Sunday's studio shoot

You are not being nitpicky at all. I tried photoshopping over that last piece of right eye with extra material, but it still made the face look wrong. I think it is one of those cases where it doesn't quite work either way. Ah well, that's life! Anyway, thanks for your comment - appreciated.

Studio Set Up Camera & Flash Settings

At one time I used a similar setup with 550EX flash units. My first suggestion, if you are intending to use for portraits, is to set both flash units on tripods, and use a wireless trigger. Having one flash on the camera hotshoe is very limiting, compared to two which can be placed in a wide...

what lights to use for portraits?

I would second the Elinchrom D-Lites. Even though they are not cheap, they are high quality units. The accesssories aren't cheap, but you can buy second-hand with confidence as they are built to last for years (I have bought loads of Ebay for my studio.

Portfolio pic for the model Kunita

I used imitation snow (from Ebay) - which comeas as a tube of tiny white granules, which swell up when water is added, and after use, can be dried out and used again.

Portfolio pic for the model Kunita

It would be cruel to leave the model lying out in the snow. No, I had her lie in the freezer for a couple of hours - much easier that way!

Portfolio pic for the model Kunita

The model Kunita requested an unusual closeup pic for her portfolio. This is the result.

Home studio with low ceilings... is it a bad idea?

I also have a 7ft ceiling studio, and have had no problems with standing full length poses (except when I try to get the models to jump for action shots!!) Examples of my studio work can be found via the web link on my signature.
