Had a reply back from Canon UK. The service centre i sent it to only deals with UK/EU warrenty repairs. They have suggested 3 other places such as Lehnmans who should be able to fix it at a cost. Felling a lot happier now. Camera will be going off first thing tomorrow. Thanks.
