    Very slow 2012 MBP

Apparently, HDD drives slow down with age. Mine did and the difference after fitting a SSD was wonderful!

    motorbikes old/new...open thread??

Back in the 60's Florian Camathias built a road-going kneeler and rode it from Switzerland to the IoM for the TT. He's pictured on it on his Wikipedia page.

Have a look at http://smallbattery.company.org.uk for batteries - they have very helpful information regarding PX625's and give excellent service.

    Nostalgic exposure calculator

I had one of the Johnson calculators many years ago when I was young and couldn't afford an exposure meter. Ahh nostalgia!!!

    Bargains Thread

Try Nik & Trick Photo for film - their prices are good and they have a wide range ( www.ntphotoworks.com ). Depending on the film they are cheaper than the 10% offer with Silverprint.

    Take camera or not?

I went to Florence in 2015. If you don't take a camera you will seriously regret it. The view from the Piazza Michelangelo in the evening is wonderful (medium long lens best), excellent views from the top of the Duomo Campanile (well worth the climb). A wide angle lens would be useful to have.

Help on a film camera please

The F80 is fine as long as you have Nikon full frame lenses - DX ones will cause problems.

    60163, Tornado

Lovely set. I definitely prefer the mono version - it has a timeless quality which I think is very suitable for steam trains.

Do mpb normally pay what they've quoted?

Bought and sold with them. They have paid what they quoted and I have found them to be an excellent firm to deal with.

    Washing film

I'm another Ilford method with domestic filtered water. If you filter the water into jugs or bottles, after a short while it will be at room temperature and you will have no problem with thermal shock.

    Abstract Nature

Great picture - just the right amount of rippling in the water to give a lovely abstract without losing the tree detail.
