I agree and with my Metz hammerhead I have a different SCA module that plugs into either my Canon or my Nikon but the flash in question doesn't have a slot for a SCA as it is all done wirelessly.

Yes Martyn that's the theory anyway. I've now managed to get some pretty acceptable stuff with the flash cord. Your photo shows how I have it set up physically. I have the latest firmware I think ( ver 3.0) so now they just have to shake hands.

Ideally I would like to do it wirelessly (iTTL), but if connecting the supplied cable is the only way then I would settle for that. Presumably that would give a full burst and I would have to go via the manual mode just like the old days.

I have a Nikon D3200 and Nikon 105mm Micro, on the end of that is my new (I hope) pride and joy, my Metz 15 MS-1. The trouble is it doesn't matter what setting I try I just can't get them to sing from the same sheet. Although the flash goes off you wouldn't know it when looking at the end...
