Advice please. Shooting into the sun @ sunrise

    Also horrid advice, sorry.

    Sunset Apache

Thanks Adam. Cheers Mark, I deleted a few to be fair!

    Tree reflections

The silver birch in the 4th shot just glows, nice work. These are not shots I would take, or process this way, but I can appreciate the style you have achieved here.

    Tutorial Correcting Verticals

Totally agree, I find the OCD side of myself wanting to do this, but compositionally so much can be gained with a wide angle by pointing it up or down to deliberately exaggerate lines and shapes, but then correction is required... Have fun, you should find it easy but if you get really stuck...

Advice please. Shooting into the sun @ sunrise

Maybe at sunset there is more atmospheric haze and usually the sun is a *slightly* softer light source than it can be at sunrise. Not always the case I know, the other thing I would say is your castle will prevent the sun becoming visible in the scene until it has risen enough to clear the...

    Snowdonia sunsets

Gorgeous shots, thanks for sharing these. The shapes of the landscape if you know the area are iconic, and being film shots add to the nostalgia/evoke memories. Digital has the ability to produce more natural images. But equally far less so, it is probably a more powerful tool but only as...

    Pen yr Ole Wen

Love this shot Jason, I know the area well but you have made the most out of the conditions and processed the sky nicely too.

    Trow Point take two

Really good Martin. As an aside you seem to nail believable dynamic range, whilst retaining good levels of clean contrast.

    Ossau Valley Letter Box Crops

I bet these need to be seen large, and in isolation to really enjoy them properly. The third is the pick of the bunch for me, love the lit mountain with the lighter exposed rock curving up towards the summit.

    Laggan reservoir sunrise reflections

Beautiful, you've already identified its a fraction tight top and bottom. If going to print you could sort this in Photoshop. Although more space given in the field specifically to the top of the frame would balance negative space bottom left well. Lovely exposure and colours.

Critique A Wintery Stob Poite Coire Ardair

I nearly always agree with you regarding photography Steve, but not completely here. Maybe because it's been a while since I've seen snow, but I appreciate the wider angle with the perfect snow at the bottom that you could reach in and touch. I don't like foreground interest for the sake of it...

    Slovakian mountains (Štrbské Pleso)

I think I read, you like myself shoot and print images in the adobeRGB colour space and no longer process specifically for sRGB and the web? This appears to be the case in the colours as displayed in the browser here, but I'm sure you know and accept that. As for the photos I really like the...

    F-35B Marham Sunset

Thanks Jason. You will love the D500, incredible camera best AF on any Nikon or Canon I've ever used. To be honest I have not used the 150-600, but I read a lot of reviews that said this 60-600mm is really strong at the long end, which is where you want it to be for this sort of work. I think...
