Some interesting updates, Panasonic really are pushing these cameras to get as much as they can out of them, which is excellent. I'm looking forward to see how much of an improvement the new firmware makes to the AF and IBIS, time will tell I guess.

    Panasonic battery.

I've got third party batteries from Dot.Foto and Newmowa which have been working fine for the last 18 months. I used to have ExPro batteries, but out of four, only 1 is still working after 3 years. I can buy 4 third party batteries for the price of one original Panasonic battery, without any...

Panasonic have released a new super zoom lens, the 28-200mm f4-7.1 with OIS. It's only slightly larger than the Panasonic series of primes and the reviews are looking quite favourable despite the slow max aperture at 200mm. I'm not sure I'd give up my 24-105 for it, but it might suit some...

I got an email from Panasonic today saying they will have a stand at the Photography Show (first time in 5 years!). I'm looking forward to seeing all their latest kit on display. Is anyone else going?

Yes if you frame a portrait shot using a wide angle lens the face will be distorted. It can work with the right shot but generally it's not very flattering.

Clearer Images on ebay offer various Panasonic repairs, it might be worth sending them a message to see if they they can help.

Panasonic 12-60 is a nice lens and can be picked up quite cheap if you don't mind buying second hand.

I've had similar thoughts, my GH5 doesn't get much use lately, but I don't want to get rid of my GX80, it's a great travel camera. I might slim down my lens collection, but I'm holding out for the time being, the mft kit is still much easier to travel with, especially if I'm out on the bike or...

Clifton Cameras have it for £1249 with a discount code and I've been very tempted, but it's hard to justify over the original S5 at the moment. I think I'll probably get some more lenses and wait for a mark iii before I look at upgrading the body.

I love my GX80 for how compact it is when using primes or even some of the smaller MFT lenses like the Olympus 9-18 or Panasonic 12-32. You can't get that level of quality from a smartphone and aps-c or full frame cameras are just too big once you add a lens. I really wish Panasonic would...
