I've used the 1.4 II on my 100-400mm and R7 recently and I'm not that impressed. Seems to be a decent drop in IQ and focus is (to me) noticeably slower. I'm not sure if the sensor out resolves the older extender? I am trying to lighten my load so tried the 100-400 and 1.4 rather than lugging...

Yep. I use the EF 500 f4 with an EF 1.4 extender then EF-RF converter to my R7 Neil
