    Ball head or Gimbal?

I use a ProMedia gimbal head on my monopod for trackside work, used it with ef200-400, rf 100-500 and now exclusively with the rf 100-300 so simple to set up and get the balance point - I tried the ball head route and just couldn't make it work for me.

How do I recover photos from my camera after accidentally formatting my SD card?

I use the full version of RescuePro from SanDisk - I have only had to use it once in anger but it recovered everything on the card not overwritten and for that reason alone I keep it updated. I always write to two cards simultaneously and download to hard drive asap, check files before...

    Brands Hatch Lens

I would also say yes - the 100-400 will be fine at brands, even shooting through the fences. outside of Druids (if you get there early enough to get a spot close to the fence) being on the indi layout there are plenty of places to shoot from - you will have a blast ;-)

The Photography Show - is it worth it?

Been a few years since we last went, Wife and I went on Saturday - to be honest was a bit disappointed, needed a new decent backpack which I eventually found and ordered, but other than that very underwhelmed. Didn't bother taking cameras with us - nearly didn't make it when found out how much...

How do you carry your gear at the circuit?

Have only ever used the one body / lens - 99% of the time on a monopod with gimble head - have a small messenger type bag with spare battery / CP filter , cloth and of course chocolate biscuits ;-)

    What does your partner think

I'm pretty lucky, my wife is a keen photographer as well, although she prefers landscape / animals - it does mean when we go out we both take photo's and have a healthy banter/ competition. We both feed off each other which is awesome - makes our trips to Canada and Iceland so much more enjoyable.

    Favourite photography YouTubers

I watch a few mentioned but don't subscribe to any, I will often do a search on a topic I am interested in and see what comes up - one I really like (did influence my recent upgrade to the R1) is Larry Chen, followed a lot of his shoots with Hoonagan and the pikes peak stuff this is the one on...

    Canon EOS R Series Cameras

Hey Tim, trust all is well ;-) Well - only used it for a few hours this morning, must have looked very odd sat beside a zoo enclosure for nearly an hour adjusting settings / trying / re adjusting - originally I thought like many others "ohh it's just an R3 mkII" but very happy to say it's not...

    Canon EOS R Series Cameras

Had my R1 a week and today was the first chance I had to go out with it - quite a few different settings to the R3 which took a bit of working out, drizzly rain. cold and dark but was determined to at least try it out (lot different to my usual subjects - not used to things being so still lol -...

    One camera, one lens

Depends totally on what I'm doing. 90% of the time I go out with just the R3 and the RF100-300 2.8. BUT if on holiday and having a landscape day it's the R3 and the RF 24-70 2.8
