    Infrared Conversion

I highly recommend Protech as well.

    Photomatix pro alternatives

I find that the results from Aurora look less artificial on the whole than those from Nik HDR Pro. I also have Photomatix but I don't use it very much - to my eye it produces very flat results. I do a lot of architectural interiors and I have found that modern cameras are so good that a tone...

    Topaz Denoise problem

The new severe noise feature is good at removing heavy film grain on digitised pictures and as way better for this than anything else I have used,

    Copy stand alternative

Problems with the effect you describe with the X-Trans sensor are largely down to the RAW converter used - most Adobe versions being pretty poor. Iridient X Transformer and Capture 1 converters do not exhibit this problem.

The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Definitely Protech. I had an X-E2 converted a few months ago and they did an excellent job.

Meyer Optik Goerlitz Trioplan 100 f/2.8

Back in the late 60s and early 70s Meyer lenses were the ones you bought for your Exakta or Praktica if you couldn’t afford Zeiss. This current enthusiasm for these lenses reminds me of Andersen’s story about the emperor’s new clothes. Having said that I did have a print accepted for the 1978...

    WWT Slimbridge Closing - Again

The situation seems very variable - we have had emails today from the National Trust and Westonbirt Arboretum saying that they are staying open pretty much as (recent) normal (although only outside, especially NT places).

    Thank you Homebase

I needed some timber today and, much to my surprise, Homebase was the cheapest and they had it in stock. I normally never go there as their stores are pretty dismal, but this was a happy exception.

The Official TP Funnies thread ( Jokes Memes etc )

I went to Westonbirt Arboretum last week to enjoy the glorious autumn colours of the Japanese Maples. Apparently these trees and shrubs are now so popular that gardeners have started forming special Acer Clubs, and buying dedicated planting tools called Acer spades.

    Skylum software - FREE

Aurora 2018 is still very well worth having - IMHO the best and most natural HDR plugin I have used.

Adobe shouts "Update or get sued"??

It's not un-removable - Google ways to stop it, it is very easy. Then set your firewall to block Adobe!

    EvilBay Query

Ebay have recently introduced an improved system where the buyer is emailed a QR code. When the item is collected the seller scans the buyer's QR code using the Ebay app and this instantly registers the collection, protecting both parties. I recently sold a couple of expensive chairs which were...
