    Excellent CHEAP 10-stop.

No need Phil, what I think happens is in most cases the noise reduction of the RAW minimises the trait for stills use. Funniest case of IR contamination I have seen was a performer's hairpiece which was invisible to the naked eye and on the camera's live output but showed up as hard transition...

    Excellent CHEAP 10-stop.

Any issues with Infrared (IR) contamination with these? What can happen is some NDs cut visible light but not IR, which can result in IR contamination of the image as you expose for the attenuated visible light if the camera has insufficient IR filtering built in. On movies we used specific IR...

    D7000 or D90 ?

Going over that thread points to from above 100 up to to 950 ISO having analogue gain, with over 950 ISO adding digital gain. So the D7000 ISOless (no digital gain) range appears to be 100-800 ISO.

    D7000 or D90 ?

Can be higher quality with more DR doing it in post than increasing ISO in-camera, it's how modern digital movie cameras work, shooting at base ISO all the time and changing output exposure comp. Basically for sensors with low read noise that do not use analogue gain the digital output from the...

    D7000 or D90 ?

Image quality from the Sony 16.2MP sensor with 14bit RAW I can shoot "ISOless" with the D7000 due to low sensor read noise, which means I can shoot manual at base ISO (100) in low light conditions then bring back what appears to be a black image in DXO or LR.

    D7000 or D90 ?

Depends what you want to do with it and budget. I have the 50mm 1.8G and the 35mm DX 1.8G and the 50mm 1.8G is sharpest lens I have on the D7000 but for me is a bit long for everyday use.

So how do they re-calibrate a lens?

I have seen movie camera zoom lenses (Angenieux) have the zoom tracking adjusted with the aid of a small hammer to make matching pairs for Stereoscopic 3D.

    D7000 or D90 ?

D7000, I find it sharper than the D5100 I had before, which shares the same sensor. D7000 was a big step up from the D90.

    Sony NEX owners thread

Lucky find of a NEX-C3 18-55mm kit for £35 in the Tesco clearance, ex display just missing the mains cable. Going to use in my travel kit to complement my Nikon V1 with 30-110mm, when I can't take the DSLR . Impressed shooting raw (DXO/LR), APS-C does low light so much better than V1's 1"...

    Wacom Tablet which size?

You can change the active drawing area in the Wacom control panel as well as relative and absolute mode if you find your tablet is a bit big for you. Relative mode is like a mouse so you move relative to where you touch, absolute directly maps the tablet to the screen so where you touch is...
