I'm sure we've (as amateurs) have all gone through this, but as with most things, practice & a bit of advice will improve your results, just keep at it.

There are lots of 'Freebie' sites on the net for this, I do the same as you for my nippers club. We use 'clubwebsite', (link below), but they've recently 'upgraded' the site & changed the way the galleries are displayed & I preferred the old way.:shrug...

Just ordered mine too, the 200 was getting a bit tight!

I've got the 200 & it's quite a good bag, the thing I like most about it (perhaps a bit oddly) is that when you 'sling' it around to the front, it's at a height I can use to rest my elbows on for extra support & stability.

I've got the Mk1 on my 40D & it's my most popular lens, IQ is brilliant, focuses super fast. Can only imagine the Mk2 is even better, as far as the F4 or F2.8, if you can afford the 2.8, go for it, if you don't need it, it'll hold its value well if you need to sell it & you'll have the benefit...

It's not about cheating, it's about getting the shot you want, & if by doing so, you do things that others don't approve of, if you like the end results, let them complain that it's not the proper way to do it whilst you enjoy your picture. If you want someone looking straight down the lens...

Another way of adjusting the exposure would be to bump up the ISO, that would keep the shutter speed up.

Put the marching ants around it, edit - copy, open the picture you want to put it on, edit - paste.

According to the exif data, both the first two shots were at 1/200th ?

As said earlier, I usually shoot in aperture proiority, set the lens as wide as it'll go with the ISO as low as possible & check that the shutter speed is fast enough to freeze the action (depends whether action is coming towards you or going across the frame). I usually use my 70-200f2.8 at...

If you want to seperate an egg white from a yolk, does it matter if you use the broken egg shells or filter it through your fingers? In my mind there is no definetive way to do it 'properly', just one way or another (to quote Blondie ;)) If what you do looks good to you, then it's all rock...
