Thanks for the instant replies, I'll take a look at that lens. I should have mentioned what I'll be shooting, with this lens most of the time it will be street scenes.

I'm new to Nikon and I will probably be buying the D600 with a prime wide angle lens. I believe 24mm is the maximum length recommended for full frame to limit distortion. I was considering the Nikon AF Nikkor 24mm f/2.8D but are there alternatives that would make better use of the D600...
