The Z6 is going on a second safari, leaving on Monday to Uganda. This time I've rented the Nikon 400 4.5 to go with the 70-200 and 1.4TC. Hopefully have plenty of focal ranges covered. I'd have loved to have got a Z8 for the trip but the maths didn't add up on this occasion, maybe next time!

Now we've had firmware V3.01 do you think that's it for the major advancements? No other camera has gone past v3.5 IIRC? Or do Nikon have track record of delivering some big changes after a year on the flagship line? I'm toying with the idea of getting one. But wondering if that's it on the...

My 1.4TC has landed from Nikon directly. It seems like they're back out of stock now so I think I was lucky. Time to experiment with it on the 70-200.

I've bought a 1.4TC from Nikon direct as they apparently had stock in. Let's see about lead times! Next will be the 400 4.5 and a Z9 :LOL:

I need to pick the collective hive mind.... After getting back from Africa I am completely revitalised for wildlife photography. I would like to change my Tamron 150-600G2 for a Nikon prime. Therein lies my dilemma. I wish Nikon made a 300 or 400 2.8 (that I doesn't cost the same as a car!)...
