it took me ages to get my head around usign high ISO and slow shutter speeds when using flash and getting the ambient light in
as mentioned, settings for ambient light to look good, then add flash..
i did an event last night ISO was at between 800-1600
Hi ... yes the ISO will effect the ambient light.. think of using the flash as mixing 2 shots together, the ambient light and the flash light.

er, it doesnt back up the photos themseleves, you need to do this manually by copying them to another location
it only backups up the lightroom catalogue. which you should back up too from time to time
im sorry but thats not the first thing i would do at all, taking if off camera is just an added complication for a total flash beginner.

I have a lastolite highlite sitting here doing nothing, so i was going to start off with that but was aware about wanting to add more lights / reflectors etc
still dont know which is the way to go bowens or elinchrom (or lencarta)
i been looking around too and also came to the same two options
elinchrom dlike IT kit or bowens 400 kit, would really like some opinions on which way to go
