    WCMUT....what cheered me up today

Going into the local Sainsbury's and finding that Laphoraig, one of my favourite Island malts, was on offer at £31, ticket price £43, with a Nectar card.

:agree: and I'm envious of the fact that you get to drive a Fergie to go shopping.:)

    Little Grey Fergie

It's a very long time ago now, my father bought our TED in 1958, I first drove it in 1959 continuing until 1963 when my parents sold the smallholding, but I'm certain that our mower's cutter was driven by the power take off placed between the rear wheels.

These brought back lots of memories as it is almost exactly the same, ours didn't have the headlamps, as the one I learnt to drive/use when I was 13.

    WAMT....what annoyed me today!

I had a similar experience with a VW showroom. I had been helping a friend with some minor building work and the jeans and shirt I was wearing was non too clean. Like your mother I was completely ignored and I haven't considered buying a VW since.

    Cobra, Rest in Peace

Very sad to hear of Chris' passing, I only knew him as a moderator on TP where he was firm, but fair and from his postings on the various forums, I gained the impression that he was very much like that in the other areas in his life.

    The Good Old Days

The Navy Lark was my favourite radio programme, at 16 I began an apprenticeship as an. electrician at Falmouth Docks. A number of the electricians and mates had been in the RN from before and during WWII and when I said it was my favourite comedy I was told it was a documentary not a comedy...

    Cumbrian railtours, 16.03.24.

Quite some years ago now I was told by a retired GWR driver that the reason the GWR had continued to use the 4-6-0 wheel arrangement was that it concentrated more of the locomotive weight on the driving wheels. This gave the locomotive better grip on steep inclines such as the South Devon banks.

The reason for the B of B needing assistance is that the GWR designed their locomotives to climb hills and the SR didn't.:)

The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I agree with you, although I have not had a problem with the Hanel batteries I have bought, however they are, like all non Fuji 126S batteries, of a slightly lower capacity.
