    I ordered a sony 18-200 nearly 3 weeks ago fron Jessops, they keep telling me it is in transit and will arrive at the store on Monday. I hope they don't up the price when it arrives as it was ordered over the phone and not paid for yet.

    Bought it for my daughter for her first dslr (A200) neither of us have any experiance prior to xmas. Unless you just point and click and there isnt much else required with this lens.

    Doubt you would get £200 for the 18-200, Jessops are selling it for £146.78 and I think the daughter will be getting one this week.

    No, its not APO, but it is as new, although not mentioned on ebay I thought it might come with a manual. But Sigma emailed back to say they would send me one for £3. Thanks for the replies.

    Excellent pointer, just googled it and can get it for £59 new. unless anything else is recommended soon I will get this. The reviews are as good as you could expect for such a cheap lens. Probably better than buying a used lens off ebay. Unless of course somebody tells me why I should stay clear...

    It will be used for school project work in media studies, but im hopeing it might become a big interest for her and lead to a bit of paid work. I thought macro was macro.

    Yes it comes with the 18-70, swinging towards the sony but the sigma has macro which i believe will be good for close up shots.
