    Amazon Photos/Drive Problems Understanding

It amazes me how a company like Amazon have, what seems to be, a fairly poor offereing. I'm really hoping someones going to drop by here and tell me I'm wrong and that it works well! It also seems so poorly suported with no tech support to speak of! I know its like a free service with...

    Amazon Photos/Drive Problems Understanding

Thanks for the reply Ranger. I can see how it would work perfectly for your application! As what I'm talking about are family snaps for the most part, being able to view them and to do so, organise them in some logical way is essential. Having everyting in date order is fine to a point (when...

Another Issue I've just noticed Is the huge number of images listed as having no date. These are images that were scanned. I used IMBatch to edit EXIF tags to create a 'date taken' date. When I right click the file in Windows explorer I can see the date taken displayed correctly. Now there are...

BBC News: Gazing monkeys image wins top wildlife photo award

Well given that were talking animals in the wild, the fact that he used flash so it must have taken quite a bit to setup and he would have had one shot at it because as soon as that flashed fired these monkeys would have been off! Cutting off the tail in the composition is forgiveable...

Some interesting comments. I don't see any evidence that flash was used and I would have though a bit unpractical. Also any natural light would also have been reflected on the background, unless it was a shaft of light falling directly on the [emoji205] through the jungle canopy which would be...

Sorry meant 'impossibly large aperture' in my post above!

BBC News: Young Landscape Photographer of the Year: Cornwall teenager 'shocked' by win

Thing is though, to get a good sharp shot of the guy jumping on the bike is going to need a fast shutter speed (or flash) and with any strong back light light or rather the rider in shadow it would seem an impossible small aperture would be required if taken at the depicted time of day. Maybe...

Right so one 'frame' which included the bike rider and exposed for the bike rider, super overexposing the background then maybe one or more 'frames' of the landscape all HDR'd together to create the final image! Clever stuff and a great shot but agree it's never a landscape.

BBC News: Young Landscape Photographer of the Year: Cornwall teenager 'shocked' by win

Looking at the BBC news site and saw this report. Amazing shot but just how was this done? It's clearly an HDR which is confirmed in the article but how on earth could the jumping rider be shot in HDR? If it's been stitched in to a landscape background then it's a fantastic job! BBC News -...
