Not sure if I breach copyright here but the mods will delete if I am: I think Aryna Sabalenka has an unfair advantage in that, in addition to her tennis racket, she appears to be using a light sabre.

Beginner A beginners first proper adventure, and when are you no longer a beginner?

In days of old, while a professional photographer might have the very best available at the time, the quality of the photograph wouldn't come near modern standards, that said, there are many, many images from decades ago that stand the test of time as excellent photographs. An image could be...

The Official TP Funnies thread ( Jokes Memes etc )

Two blondes were walking in the woods when one of them said 'look, deer tracks'. Th other blonde said 'no, they are wolf tracks' 'My Dad.' said the first one, 'used to hunt deer and he taught me that these would be deer tracks.' 'Well my Dad, worked in the Northern woods, and he taught me about...

Well, now they can put his head on his trophy wall if they can find a Tupperware container big enough now five elephants have finished with it.

    Linux Mint

It's being mooted, apparently. By coincidence, it appears that just last month, this rumour was quashed, but I didn't know that until just now. It is suspected that some AI facilities and other stuff may well be subscription-based, but the core operating system will be a free upgrade from...

That will change if Microsoft move to a subscription platform, I might even have another go then.

Beginner A beginners first proper adventure, and when are you no longer a beginner?

My view on when one is no longer a beginner is when you can take a picture using ISO, aperture, shutter speed and focus and no longer need, or want, the scene modes on a camera. At that point you have moved from outright novice to someone who does actually have clue what they are doing. Once...

OK, I've tried and tried but I just can't get on with Linux, perhaps I'm too old to change now. I can't get Nordpass to autofill. Whenever I download a new program, like NordVPN for example, it won't just run, I have to use a command line to connect to it and for some reason, my battery doesn't...

    Which photo printer?

Just occasional pictures that I think might go well framed and on the wall.

    Which photo printer?

Pretty open about that. TBH, it's the physical size that's high on the list of requirements, I just don't want a massive block of plastic sitting around. Not trying to compare apples with oranges but my current document colour printer can be picked up with one hand. I am expecting a photo...

    Which photo printer?

Too big, it's an A3 printer. I used to have an Epson 3000 A3+ printer but it took so long to start up after a period of downtime, that by the time it was ready, I'd almost forgotten why I switched it on.

    Which photo printer?

I have a printer, it is a Canon IP 28xx. It prints documents, it can print in colour using a tri-colour combined cartridge with a separate black one. Even after not using it for months, it sets itself up for use within a minute. It can print photographs, but only up to 6 x 4 apparently, but I...

    Linux Mint

That would seem to fit the problem. Is that something that the installation should have dealt with or did I miss something?
