    Neg Scanner?

I spend a lot of time on the road, so went with the Plustek 8200i AI scanner - flatbeds apparantely might give somehow better results. But I have been happy with the Plustek for the last few months. Nice to be able to scan your negs in the camper on the road.. and not wait for months to get home...

OFFICIAL I HAVE A NEW (FILM RELATED) TOY THREAD!!

Very little experience with the Prominent as of yet - mine is the Prominent I so has the tiniest of viewfinders to try to look through and focus. It is a different experience to use the focus ring and the reeling of the film.. from the two times I've been out with it, have loved it. First roll...

OFFICIAL I HAVE A NEW (FILM RELATED) TOY THREAD!!

Here is my little film camera collection - somehow have fallen into the Voigtlander category here. In the middle my fathers old Vito B, on the left the Bessamatic with the Zoomar lens and on the right the latest addition. Prominent I with 50mm Nokton, 35mm Skoparon and 100mm Dynaron. All now...

    camcorder reccomendation please

If your budget stretches - the AX100 is fair bit better.. But - for point&shoot ones, in my opinion these pretty good ones. Of course there are compromises... compared to a 10k camcorder ;-) And I would say Sony now wouldn't I ... since apart from my 35mm film gear.. all my stuff is Sony these...

    camcorder reccomendation please

This is sort of shouting out a make of a camcorder ;-) But I’ve had some good experiences with the Sony FDR range of camcorders … used the FDR-AX53 and FDR-AX100E myself. Decent 4K footage and ‘do the job’ .. used them at indoors with basketball, and they were more than OK in quality for social...

    Basketball

The Copper Box has a decent lighting for indoor sports - even these days. For someone who shoots basketball for living - I go for shutter speed of 1/800 minimum - f2.8-f3.5 - ISO 'whatever it needs to be'. As many more experienced photographers told me when I was starting - that you can always...

The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

I can see if our little doggie would be up for some running in the snow while I photograph him... Would be a good test of AF for sure ..

The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

First game last night with the A9III - really with just out of the box setting, with very few minor tweaks. So not properly set-up as such. Initial thoughts are... that 120fps is just insane! I can definitely see the useful aspects of it in SOME instances in sport (as I shoot 90% sports) - but...

    Aurora over Northern Finland

Yep, third year we’ve been to the same area for holidays. This year we were there for eight nights and had northern lights on SIX evenings and FOUR mornings. Well, as the sun doesn’t rise in Lapland this time of the year.. the mornings were dark until late and evenings got dark early. Other...

    Aurora over Northern Finland

Few days in Finnish Lapland on a holiday, and had few nights of decent Northern Lights .. Didn't really spend much time taking photos, but got some nice ones (even if actually looking at the lights is much more impressive and fun :-) ). Today had a KP6 strength aurora and captured this, in a...

With the temps here at around -15 celsius.. no risk of thawing for the moment. Sun has already set a while ago here.. so let's see if I manage to take a camera out tomorrow. As you might imagine - not great deal of fun for the fingers at these temperatures.

Guess we have about 30cm of snow .. but seeing as I live in Finland.. it might not count ;-)

Canon printer Ink with FREE printer

It is these days cheaper to walk down to your local library and print your occasional A4 there.. feels like if you buy in cartridges .. you print once, then try to print in two weeks next time and get a warning of 'low ink levels' ... hence our printer at home is just gathering dust ;-)

    Beginner Northern Lights

At least then most of the way you should be in the Northern lights territory on your travels.. once again depends so much on the weather. Up in Kirknes area you should normally have northern lights (even on slow solar activity) on pretty much every second night. But then you come to the...
