Saddam Hussein given death penalty by hanging

Quite agree. What do you reckon his life expectancy would be anyway?

Saddam Hussein given death penalty by hanging

Death sentences create martyrs. Also, it's an easier option than languishing in prison for the rest of his life.

The sun is shining - what are you all doing today?

I went and got a Sigma 30mm f/1.4 for my eos. Lovely lens, and practically what I remember a 50mm lens used to look like....Standard prime Time. i spent the best part of the day wandering around testing it. Jessops price matched the lens for me without quibbling BTW!

    Home insurance or better?

I had mine tacked onto the household insurance, also covers me for 60 days abroad too. It was surprisingly cost effective.

    Hi!

I've never flown my camera - it's quite specialised, and involves a lot of modications and special helmets. Not my scene. there are loads of sites that show sky pics tho. It's not easy to do it well. and I'd worry about landing on my head....

    Review Canon 50mm F/1.8 MKII

I loved this lens on my film eos, but it has taken a while to get used to it with a 1.6 crop factor. i have started using it more though, and appreciating its small size and low light capabilites more. I would certainly not get the 50 1.4 until I had a full-frame camera though - so the 50 1.8...

    Canon 100 macro

The 100mm macro is very versatile, both as a 100mm medium tele, and as a macro. On a crop camera it translates as increased working distance which is helpful when taking pictures of nervous insects, and it's always a good iodea not to have your glass too close to the subject. As a portrait...

    Aaarrgggh!

After a nightmare with my PC supplier, I decided that the next one is coming from PC world even if you do pay a bit more - the branch is just down the road, no waiting in for imaginary couriers ever again. :bang: I hope you got your delivery charge refunded.

Anyone else not got an expensive camera?

I started with a Fuifilm E550 when I decided to test out digital waters - loved it so much that I started saving my behind off, and moved to a DSLR. I still use the Fujifilm compact though - a big camera can be intrusive, and takes a lot more worrying after.

    Clocks go back tonight!

I've nejoyed having the extra hour today - but i can't bear the dark afternoons. I get seriously SAD by mid January - perhaps I should start planning a holiday. But sunset and dawn photography is sure easier at this time of year. there's almost always a silver lining somewhere!

Can I have my Xmas prezzie early?

It's a nice lens, especially for the money. But I hardly ever use mine since I moved from film to digital. The crop factor just doesn't work for me on this one. It is a nice portrait lens though - almost too sharp... I guess you'll have to wait!
