Looks decent to me. Definitely sharp to my eyes. The kicker to the right looks a little odd and would have been nicer if placed on the left IMO. I'm sure the client was thrilled.

I stick B+W 007 nano MRC clear filters in front of all my lenses for protection. They are fairly expensive but don't degrade image quality from my testing where as I have definitely noticed some degradation from some UV lenses that I've tried.

The eyes are overcooked in my opinion.

Photography is all about light. Use better light. From looking at the last image of yours I can see way better light in the background so make the most of it. Plonk your kid in front of a window at a slight angle and then take a picture and see how it turns out.

As I use an EVF the histogram is extremely useful to me. I can see if I'm blowing the highlights before I even press the shutter.
