BRSCC @ Oulton, sometimes on the black stuff !

They look good Chris - I was tucked into the corner of old hall when Hen wiggled his 924 - only caught the tail end of the madness. Looked like he was going to slam either into tyre/bodywork for definite. Lucky chap!

    Automotive outdoor studio kit.

TFC hire them for reasonable amount, i'm eager to try them out and compare them to Batpac's which are for the record, a tad overpriced . Ian, From my experience speedlites are good way of learning the tricks of the trade, they'll cope fine in reasonable lighting conditions, they're...

Supertourers at the Gold Cup - more pics added

The 406 is by far the most exciting car for me, amazing line up of super tourers.. nostalgia overload! Could never get bored of staring at these cars, thanks for sharing.

    My First studio portrait

Apologies for the delayed response - "Too hot", the lights are burning out detail on the skin. You can double check how much it's burning out on histogram notch on Lightroom. Or check as you are going along in camera by turning on highlight clipping warning. Also, if you've got a 5in1...

Review Sigma 30mm f1.4 DC Review

I got outbid on a Canon 28 f1.8 on ebay a little while back, this looks a far better alternative! From the amount of times my Canon 50 f/1.4 has been in repair shop i'm replacing it with the Sigma 50mm... built a hell of a lot more robustly. Terms of build quality there definitely isn't much...

    Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix

Shame there wasn't a little more exposure of car in #10, great set of images! #4 is nicely done! Thanks for sharing.

For a better catch light in the eyes, try having two front key light sources, e.g. A speedlite offset from octa/softbox key. Very complimenting and adds nice sparkle to the eyes! Back lights are a little too hot on her skin on 1 & 2 but I like them. Good effort! James

    Late Nurburgring 24

Have to agree with everyone else, 1. is a winner. Being a bit picky but having it a little more high key would definitely improve it!

    BTCC Donington

Colors look ever so slightly yellow on my screen? Maybe a touch too much post. All very minor details, I'd crop it in ever so slightly from right so the car is central. I'm mentioning this because you could either go for a full 'rule of thirds' composition or just centralized. This is somewhere...

Could someone advise on a suitable tripod please?

Keep a saved search on ebay on tripods, preferably Manfrotto. People will flog them a lot cheaper in return for collection only. E.g. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Manfrotto-055CL-Tripod-Manfrotto-055CL-Tripod-foam-grip-to-legs-/261185415883?pt=UK_Tripods_Monopods&hash=item3ccfdd2acb Then invest...

    BUCS Athletics Championships

#6 HDR is superb. There will be so many cameras going back and forwards on those lines this summer! I was going to attend this event though certain occuring issues prevented me from going :'( Totally jealous. Great effort. James.

    Noble M400

#1 Is the best by far. Control with the tonal range is perfect too. #5 Might be a tad too eye popping with the sky! Did you use Photoshop HDR Toning/Photomatix?

    First attempts

Hi Nathan, Good Attempt. Cropping & Levelling is important so try to keep these clean and avoid distracting background/foregrounds. Plus, try flipping the images, so the car is going left-to-right instead of right-to-left. You'll be pleasantly surprised the difference it makes :D Hope...

    BSB - Oulton Park

Apart from No.4 being a tad dark, good use of the MCN board in the background, really makes the bike stand-out. (Especially the Kawasaki) I really like the set!
