Well I've not been in this thread for a while :)
Now I'm more than fedup with Sony (the A1 mainly) I'm looking to switch back to Nikon, which I didn't want to move from in the first place but they didn't have a viable mirrorless at the time (I loved the D850).
It's going to be a couple of...
Well that's a pretty pathetic firmware update for the A1. After all this time, that's it, not even focus bracketing. Have to say the A1 has been the most disappointing camera I have had :(
I realised later I shouldn’t have said autofocus but subject/eye detection. Was just testing it in the crowded show hall, but it certainly felt that the A9iii found/locked onto the subjects quicker. The A9iii would go from say finding a head to eye of someone side facing almost instantly where...
Also had a play with the A9 iii, although not something I will get the autofocus seemed noticably better than the A1...
I asked the Sony rep when we may see the promised firmware for the A1, he had no idea (din't expect him to).
It is at the show, I had a play with it on my camera today. Can't comment on picture quality as I haven't seen the images on the computer but it is much smalller than and thought, quite light and well balanced.
I've got the 1.4x and I've just ordered the 2x, it's actually more for landscapes than sports/wildlife. I'd rather carry the 70-200 2.8 and a TC if I need it than the 100-400 (assuming the TC turns out to be ok).
I've always stuck with the 1.4 TC but interested to see how it is with the 70-200. I guess at £299 its worth a go, I'd get my money back probably if I don't like it as prices will go up again in a week or two.
ohh, I was looking for one to go with a 70-200 2.8 GM ii so I ordered one although I haven't got the lens yet.
But talking of which anyone using a teleconverter with the 70-200 2.8 GM ii? if so does it work OK?
For anyone interested the Sony 2x Teleconverter is on sale with £200 off! so only £299.
Thought I'd mention it as that's a really good price although a few places have now sold out.
My sub for the full CC runs out in a few weeks.
Currently paying £30ish on offer but will go up to £56.98 which is too much for the little I use Premiere/AE.
Is there likely to be any more offers leading up to Black Friday? and is there normally an office on the complete suite?
2 batteries usually last me a day for wildlife (in the grip) but sometimes I'll need to put another couple in, Battery life has never been one of the things I consider in a camera, as long as it's predictable I can't see any issue in carrying a couple of extra batteries, they take seconds to...
That's sort of what I meant, just a couple of things I wasn't interested in but they said "and more". Again why March 2024 or Later, why can't they just add stuff now and more later, just feels like it's being held back on purpose.
I missed the release date, Spring 2024, mmm I wonder why they wanted to get this announcement out now. Something big coming from the competition?
At £6K though probably not something I'll pick up.
They mentioned Firmware for the A1 coming March 2024 or later, not holding my breath on that one...
