I use a Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 with my D600 and it is not soft at f/2.8.. the colour is a little washy in some light situations wide open..
I bought mine on ebay 3 yrs ago for £350 and have used it with D90 / D300 / D7000 & D600
Great value for money !!
Got my D600 on Friday, used it on Sunday in low light with 24-70 f2.8 and it coped really well, also used it with 80-200mm F2.8 also awesome quality and focus speed at 4pm... Getting really dark....
Yesterday I went out and shot a grew flood shots when I looked at them last night I already have...
After 7months of trying to get on with my d7000 and it going back to Nikon twice for soft focus issues I have put it on eBay .. Will use the little money I get for it to help buy a d600
70-700mm WOW !! thats a big lens.. :bonk:
In Church use 70-200mm f/2.8 no flash but on Tripod to catch the intimate moments
For the set poses use Nikon 18-200mm with flash
Big group shots and wacky stuff use 10-24mm
I have a D90, D300 and D7000
If you want a good DSLR that will do most things well the D90
If you want a bigger grip, faster frame rate and weather proofing then D300
If you want soft focus and a smaller grip with no 3rd party battery options then D7000
I use D300 / D7000 for event...
