Help With Aperture Reading On Nikon

Some nikon lenses are set to f22 on the lens to allow the aperture to be set by the command dial not related to original query but more to do with why you might think you’re going completely mad

1 More Lens for New York

Ive got sigma 24-105 and it was the only lens on camera in NY. I took a couple of others but not needed. So either 24-105 or 24-120 ive recommended before for NY trips to take a platypod and head in bag as they usually take tripod off you at tall building security. I’d leave 105 and 18-35 at...

    Second camera

i'd have a look at trade ins or sales of the d7100 and d3500 add to the £400 and get the best used d500 i could get and have a pair of d500's

    Compact travel tripods

I use a 3lt billy which isnt tall enough but they have others in their range which are i also have artcise as80 &as90. If the as35c fits size wise then its difficult to see going beyond that for £90. Rather than buy 2, is there no way the as80 could go in your checked luggage?

    Non UK New York

Cant help with a workshop organiser but recommendation from a trip a few years ago. Invest in a platypod and ball head. A lot of the buildings hold your tripod at security but none took the platypod and head off me and it proved a very effective tripod replacement on the balconies of the tall...

    Which tripod £150

Have a look at the artcise tripods on amazon. You’ll get cf in your range and a decent tripod. I’ve got as as90 and an as80 if you’re looking for a ‘name’ then have a look at the used sections at ffordes, mpb

    Upgrading Nikon d3100....but to what?

Second the suggestion for a d500. If you do go with something below that in line up i’d strongly recommend d7x00 rather than d5x00 or d3x00. The two command dials make a huge difference in usability i have a d500, d850 and a z7. I do find battery life an issue with the z7 but i suspect the...

    Camera for Rugby

If you were going down that route you would be better with a D7100 or its canon equivalent. Setting all other things aside in term of IQ, MP, low iso performance, fps, etc, for handling the D3xxx or D5xxx series have a fundamental issue with only one command dial so dialing in settings...

    Nikon D7100 focusing problem

just to be sure. You dont have the af/mf lever set to mf? when you press the i/ info button does it say mf or af? if not i suspect it might be whatever is controlling the signal or screw between the body and lens isnt working. Whether loose or damaged/ worn but that is what it sounds like to me

    Nikon D7100 focusing problem

if you manually adjust focus on the lens does that work. Might be a focus screw type thing

Camera for occasional low light event photography.

Do a low light trial and run through topaz denoise or similar to see how far you could push the envelope on iso

Equipment for 4 day NYC visit

I’d suggest looking at taking a platypod and small ballhead or similar. Even ifyou take a travel tripod for general use they wont let youtake it or use it in some of public terraces at top of buildings snd you have to leave it at security. Not so the platypod and theres usually a wall with...
