Its my understanding that the landowner can make the rules for photos on his land. I don't think that the fact that the land/building is open to the public affects that rule. Try taking a photograph in a supermarket. If spotted you will be shown the door. But the landowner does not have any...

Ha ha, my focus was spot on, and my sensor was clean as a whistle...……. Just a photo that comes with idle time on my hands, due to our recent storms and heavy rain...I was "playing" with my new Olympus Em5 ii, which I am fairly pleased with. Not quite as good as the Em1 ii which my No 1...

Thanks Graham and Russ. Yes these colourful little finches are very common on the Big Island, Hawaii. They are not too skittish, so with a good lens quite easy to get a close photo. I photo'd quite a few local birds, all new to us from UK.

Thanks Graham for your photo of almost the same scene. It was an amazing place, my only disappointment was poverty amongst the locals, they seemed to be living in old cars and tents on the road side, in comparison to the wealth of the Honolulu residents. But as my sister says, thats America...

Again Scirocco, thanks for your CC. As I said to Toni, its not always easy to work on these "holiday snaps" to get really good images/photos. Lighting is a fact, only being in the right place at the right time will sort that. I do "see" beautiful scenes, and try to make them work, but as you say...

Thanks Toni for your CC. Yes, perhaps I am a bit "quick" to fire off a few photos, without always seeing the wider viewpoint. I try to isolate subjects for impact, but in these "travelogue" type photos, its not always easy to do that, humanity always gets in the way...:-)
