    Wedding Photography

I think many a wedding photographer started out in exactly the same scenario (including me!). I decided to take the plunge, and loved it (and still do!). Many photographers shoot with zooms, some shoot with primes and some mix it up. My kit bag includes: 24-70 f/2.8 70-200 f/2.8 50 f/1.4 85...

Making subjects feel relaxed when taking portraits - tips

This very same question gets a lot of airtime on photography facebook groups, too. I often find that it's not the camera that people are afraid of, it's the situation that they're in and the thoughts they have about it - they think that they have to force smiles, awkwardly pose, and fake it all...

Wedding Couple Bridge Reflections at Night

Here's a couple of edits on a slightly different image, taking the feedback into account. Thoughts appreciated!

Great...

Need Some Advice on Shooting Portrait In a Forest

I live in a forest and regularly shoot portraits there. Parts of a forest can be quite dark, with dappling to contend with, but other locations, particularly on the fringe, in a clearing, or near a waterway will be open above, giving plenty of light, but still having the feel of a forest. The...

    The value of photography

Hey Jed, There could be a million reasons why you're quieter this year as opposed to last - have you had a look back at last years success to see if you're doing anything differently? Have you raised your price? Taken a different approach to marketing? Focused on text or messenger platforms to...

    Hello from Northumberland!

Hey Everyone, I'm a wedding photographer from Northumberland. I've been into photography for about 8 years now, since I quit smoking and bought myself a compact system camera to keep myself busy and off the fags! Started capturing anything at all, from landscapes to bugs and critters, before a...
