    London - Where to Shoot?

Forgot to add, the West End is lit up with Christmas lights right now. Regent and Oxford Streets. Think Carnaby St is too. If you can handle the crowds, it may be worth a look.

    London - Where to Shoot?

Southbank is great. Oxo Tower and Gabriels Wharf is a good area as you get view back along towards St Pauls from the piers that jut out into the River. Camden Markets are good for people watching, but be careful of getting your camera in the face of a punk, some won't like it! Greewich is...

    D700 vs D200

After a year or so of saving cash, I have finally got a D700 in my hot little hands. I also plumped for a 24-70 2.8 and 80-200 2.8, and I have to say that I am very, very happy. I went out in the snow on Saturday and took some test shots, and can not believe the difference between my new kit...

    I'm in the news!

Stunning! I have a couple of questins if you don't mind. How do you get the colours? For instance your shot of the caravan is green inside. Do you place a coloured light in there beforehand? I know this is probably a basic question, but I am intrigued and have no idea how you have done this...

    Good deal?

Thanks Ozei, I was getting a bit confused, so that really helps. Flash, why would I not be getting a Nikon warranty? Is this something to do with 'grey imports' that I keep reading about on TP?

    Good deal?

I am buying a D700, and upgrading all of my lenses and found this bundle: http://www.digitalrev.com/en/nikon-d700-digital-slr-camera-body-and-nikon-24-70mm-f2-dot-8g-ed-and-nikon-80-200mm-f2-dot-8-d-ed-zoom-and-sandisk-8gb-cf-card-10546.html Quick question, is there fundamentally any...

The best photo you've ever taken...

This is probably the best photo I have taken. It was wet, windy day and the weather just changed late for about an hour or so. As I was conmposing the 2 girls walked through the image.

Star trails and in-camera noise reduction

Wow! Thanks for all of the advice, it's really appreciated. As with anything, there's always more than one way to do something. I will have some time back home, so I think I may try both the long expsure & stacking options, and see how the measure up to each other. Richard, I read you posting...

Star trails and in-camera noise reduction

Thanks Scarecrow, your last point is essentially why I thought turning NR off may be a good thing. I don't think light pollution will be an issue as I will be litelly 100km for any towns, but I shall see. I may just turn it back on and see how I go.

Star trails and in-camera noise reduction

Hi, Just a quick question, am going to buy a D700, and want try some star trails when I back in Australia in January. Thinking about long exposures, do you think it be worthwhile turning off the in-camera noise reduction? If I could use bulb for 30 minutes and ISO 100, do you think the noise...
