Non UK Photography Workshops to Iceland

Did you compare what you were getting for the money as that can vary a lot. But what they include in terms of meals, accommodation, transport etc can vary a lot and where in Iceland they will be going will also affect the cost too.

    Gimbal or fluid?

I haven't used a fluid head but I have a Lensmaster gimbal for my 500mm f4 and would recommend. As a landscape photographer Im new to using big tele lenses but it takes seconds to get the camera/lens balanced on the head and once done it is so easy to position and stays wherever you put it.

How do people get these results?

Aside from the use of ND filters to get very long exposures (and the processing) the other thing is the quality of the light. Landscape photography is all about being in the right place at the right time, something which is sometimes overlooked.

    LPOTY 2022

Add to that the change of exhibition venue from the National Theatre, where every image in the book was printed and exhibited, to a busy station concourse where only a small fraction are on show and it is clear that the photography isn't top priority.

Precisely Martin... agree with all of that (and I've had the same run of luck/lack of)

    LPOTY 2022

To illustrate how subjective it is, for me I would pick number 3, I love the simplicity and softness and clean composition but no doubt others would pick differently for different reasons

    LPOTY 2022

Could be one of several reasons... 1. Maths, with over 20,000 entries and less than 200 accepted, the vast majority of images don't get in 2. I'm amazed yet another version of this got in at all 3. Perhaps they thought the additional elements included in the wider pano view distract from, rather...
