    First camera help

The reports on Olympus are unsubstantiated, they seem to be generated from low confidence sources, at the moment none of the big companies are obviously at risk. For new mirrorless cameras that I would look at the Olympus E-M10 mk2 / E-M10 mk3 or Panasonic GX80 / GX9, all with a couple of lens...

    Canon EF-S Lens upgrade - info/advice please

I had the Tamron 17-50mm (non-VC) and it was very good, I moved to the underrated EF-S 15-85mm and took some of my best shots. The lens I never had a chance to try was the EF-S 17-55, but the reviews are inconclusive for the price.

E-Infinity have deleted all Olympus products.

E-Infinity have done this before, earlier in the year. I was looking at the 12-100 and then Oly disappeared, I picked up the 8mm FE a couple of months ago when Oly reappeared. Give it 3-4mths and they’ll reappear I suspect.

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 & Mark 2 Owners Thread

The 12-40 is more than capable, even a cheap fisheye will do the job. My preferred are the PL15mm 1.7 and the Oly 8mm FE. The attached are stacked in Sequator/Starry Landscape and are the 12-40 and the Samyang 7.5, SOOC was fine.

    Pana-Leica 200mm f/2.8 query

Glad that I haven’t missed the memo. As much as the Oly 300 with Sync IS would be nice, having both the PL200 & 100-400 cover most things off I’ll ever take, a x2 TC would be nice in longer term, no rush though (also not seen if the Oly x2 would fit the 200). It is a ruddy marvellous lens that...

    Pana-Leica 200mm f/2.8 query

I have the PL200 lens and think it’s stunning. I used it this week at the Seal colony in Horsey on my daughter’s E-M10ii and very happy with the results. Have I missed a memo though, as MPB has 26 for sale (8 w/o the x1.4TC). Is it too niche for most people? The Oly 300mm is like hens teeth...

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 & Mark 2 Owners Thread

I think Robin was using Olympus Workspace, but not sure. Rob Trek has dealt with setting the warning here, unless I'm getting very confused.

    "Panasonic G series" Owners Thread

Enjoy it. TBH I'm still learning how to push the 200, I used it recently at Grigin for Red Kites with success (it's like getting my Granny to drive an F1 car), but I need to work on my technique. I still keep expecting Park to knock on the door asking for more money, why they've sold the lens at...

Sorry [emoji17], my fault about the 200/2.8. You’ve done the same as me.

    My photography roadmap

If I was going to list the price paid, then I would also need to list the price received when I moved the kit on. Otherwise the analysis is biased to one perspective, mind you I’m not saying I’m anywhere near being in a budget surplus.

    My photography roadmap

Absolutely fair point, I know I have had a lot of kit and I agree I need to consider what I actually need. Much of what I have now gets used quite a lot, apart from the astro lens & the PL200 which are a bit specialised.

    My photography roadmap

I decided to whiteboard my digital photography journey and the next steps, I might take. So I roadmapped the cameras and lenses I’ve owned in different categories, to see the linkages and the evolution. I moved from Canon to Fuji after I tried mirrorless, the Canon offering wasn’t good enough...
