New Old Film Challenge #152 - Song Title. *** RESULT ***

I was going to go with Windmills of your Mind, but instead: Last train to San Fernando instead. Or Last train to Glasgow Central, if you prefer. Tysley museum, Birmingham, Nikon FM2n, some sort of slide film, about 1994.

    Left eye or right eye?

Right eye weaker than left but still use it since diopter can adjust. Right handed, but eat with knife in left hand and fork in right. Never understood this eating malarky - your knife just moves backwards and forwards but your fork has to move in all directions as well as aim. My...

    no longer used

Mine is, but it didn't stop me taking my old D70 and kit lens to LCE (along with other stuff) who gave me money for it.

New Old Film Challenge #96 - Corners - Discussion Thread

Amazing. I recognised straight away that steveo_mcg's entry was West Bow, but despite living in Edinburgh for over ten years and walking up that road many times, I have no recollection of that structure in the middle of the road. Off to Google maps, and sure enough, there it is. The original...

    geotagging photographs: mobile phone/GPS

Ages ago I got a cheap Blumax GPS logger but they soon stopped updating the software. Then I got one of these: https://buy.garmin.com/en-GB/GB/p/518046.html This worked well and is handy when hiking around, as well as logging your movements. The problem with both of these devices were that...

The 5 Best 35mm Film cameras for beginners.

The OM10 with that adaptor was a triumph of marketing and a disaster of execution. In auto mode you twiddled the aperture ring and the viewfinder lights went up and down showing you the shutter speed. Great, no problem with that. With the adaptor in play you had exactly the same thing, with...

Use of manual lens on Sony A100

Don't know anything about the A100 or even what it is, but the A7 range has a menu option to prevent the shutter firing if a non compatible lens (or no lens) is fitted, Maybe that is the issue.

Campervan - The new "must have" piece of equipment ?

Get some of this stuff https://www.thetford-europe.com/product/seal-lubricant/ for the loo. It might be useful for the rubber around the quarterlights as well if they are not too perished already.

Campervan - The new "must have" piece of equipment ?

70 plus nights is good going if still in full time employment. That would make 70 times 100 quid per year in hotel costs, so £35000 over five years in hotels. Campsite fees in this (expensive) country for 70 nights would be about £8000, and that is worst case. I bet your caravan cost less...

Campervan - The new "must have" piece of equipment ?

Very true, but one could also argue that you ought to live in different vans after conversion to see how you get on with the layout. Sadly, this is not possible without spending a load of money hiring one. The Transit Custom based vans don't seem that much different from my old Bongo, which...

Campervan - The new "must have" piece of equipment ?

My normal car does 70mpg if I take it easy, or 60mpg if I don't. Do I take it on holiday with me? Nope. It sits at home getting rusty brake disks, since I can't sleep it in, can't cook in it, and can't do the toilet in it. If you are trying to win the wife over, start showing her pictures of...

Campervan - The new "must have" piece of equipment ?

The diesels were mostly if not all 4WD. The petrol ones were RWD. I had the 2.5 V6 petrol and it went like stink and gave about 30mpg, about the same as I get in the 3500kg Ducato. Some owners of the diesels run them on cooking oil. MPG isn't much of an issue for those of us using them...

Campervan - The new "must have" piece of equipment ?

Went there yesterday (on the bus), and got stuck in the traffic around it today. Busy, expensive, sore feet, and really rather annoying. For a T5 size van, anybody exhibiting there is going for a side conversion with a rock and roll bed, so not a great deal to learn about layouts. For those...
