Actually it was Fomopan 100. The day was VERY bright and the sunlight harsh (such is the way up here in sunny Aberdeenshire) The other three were taken at 1/10. It is proving a bit of a challenge with the lightmeter as the times shown are the more modern variety of 15,30,60 and 125 whils the...
The saga continues. I have now two film holders in addition to the four glass plate variety. I have "modified" them to accept film (and only time will tell if I have been successful) and managed to get out into the stormy weather and shoot three frames, two on the modified holders and one using...
Dungeness is/was one of my favourite places for derelict boats (the subject of my Associate panel; derelict boats) Last year went down there only to discover that the beach had been abused by "photographers" doing commercial work. As a consequence they have banned/ restricted access for the...
I was able to pick up a Brass & Mahogany wooden camera some years ago complete with four lenses, 3 film/plate holders and a load of bits including aperture slide thingys from a customer for £180. It is in good condition and, like Kevin, it is a display piece. The plate holders are about the 5 x...
I wasted a whole afternoon trying to modify a Glass Plate holder to take sheet film. Thanks Asha, I did follow you suggested link but in the end though "sod it" and went and bought two film holders for £30.
I also spent the day cleaning the MPP of dirt and dust. Shock horror; I used WD40 on a...
Thanks Guys,
I really fancy doing this. My digital photography was becoming a bit jaded (too much worrying about club photography and judges - and I'm a judge too!) so I decided it was time to put some fun into what I was doing. Craig Prentis on YouTube was wandering about with his dog taking...
Hello Everyone,
Hope I'm in the right place for this query.
I own a rather old MPP 5x4 LF camera. It is a bit tired,(like me) and it was inherited from a relative who used it professionally in St Andrews in the '40s and '50s. With it came three plate holders, again a bit tired but cleaning up...
And that's exactly what I intend to do. I would have liked to use the meters in the cameras but it is not to be. Having said that, I found, in amongst my numerous cameras, an Olympus Pen-EE-S which uses a "Automatic Eye" and does not need a battery; Street photgraphy anybody?
Thanks for your...
I must have been lucky as all I have had to contend with is a coroners court in 1970 and it lasted about a couple of hours. Since then they have forgotten all about me. Did not know they could call on you up to 75, better keep a low profile for the next year or so.

Hi,
I thought that I might have got it in the wrong way, but, on removing the baseplate it is obvious that the body is the positive side of the circuit. I bought a special adaptor made of brass from eBay and it is clearly marked "+".
Stage two involved taking a Nikon F Photomic out of the...
Thanks David,
I have had the cameras for years (I used to collect until I realised it was a waste of money) and as they seemed in good condition I thought it would be nice to use them again. I could just stick with the Minolta camera I use but would like to get to the bottom of this problem...
After using digital for the last ten years, I wanted to to back to using film both in 35mm and medium format. I dug out a decent OM-1, a RC35 and a Pen F with attached meter which all had been part of a time when I collected vintage and unusual cameras.
On scouring the internet I discovered...
