How often would you edit the picture on the pc?

Everything I upload to flickr or similar has been through post processing in either Photoshop or Lightroom. This is approx. 10/20% of all the images I take. The others don't ever get seen by anyone else. This number is probably higher recently as I've been more considerate when taking a shot.

What have you done with your camera today

Got a Sigma 105mm as an early birthday present so it's been stuck to my hand all weekend. Glasgow Cathedral by Kirsty Rice, on Flickr Glasgow Cathedral by Kirsty Rice, on Flickr Glasgow Cathedral by Kirsty Rice, on Flickr Pumpkin by Kirsty Rice, on Flickr Doll on shelf by Kirsty Rice, on Flickr

    Beginner Newborn/Mother/father photoshoot :-)

For me, I think the close-up baby only shots are very nice. The rest are a bit posed, a little cheesy at times and some of them I'm just not getting at all, especially the baby being held up at each end. We can't see his face and the nappy takes away from it too. I'm guessing most were the...

Photoshop CC update, interesting new selection tool!

Oh no, the massive screen issue has returned :/ I'm at 100% UI scaling but when I click export to I can't see the save button!! I think it took a while to resolve this the last time I updated. Anyone been through it?

    Online printing

You might not be printing many today, or this month, but a printer can last a long time, I have a Canon Pro 9000 Mark 2 and I must have bought it 3 or 4 years ago. I didn't use it much at first but i'm using it a lot now. Yeah, I can mess up prints now and again, but at least it's one or two...

Photoshop CC update, interesting new selection tool!

I'm not sure I follow so may not be of help. The files will be on your harddrive unless you didn't save them? But if you were coming back to them after closing Photoshop, i'd assume you did? I wasn't aware you could have 'projects' that were half way done that weren't saved...unless you didn't...

What lens for my brothers wedding?

My vote is for the 50mm 1.8g You'll be fairly near most subjects and it's a bit more 'guest taking pictures' friendly than a larger lens I'd think. You don't want the wedding photographer to think they've got competition, I guess.

    Back to nature

Great pics. I love rusty things. That moss on the wheel, and the parts, would be good for macro I think

Product photography - glass item with metallic gold foil

I wouldn't mind seeing the reflections either, it looks a bit more natural. I've done a quick google and it doesn't seem to be something people shy away from. I think the issue with reflections is when you can see people or diffusers etc , but just a contrast of light and dark adds depth. I...

    Confused . Android

In simple terms, I believe they are just versions, like Windows 98, Windows 7 and Windows 10... The newer it is the better it'll run...in theory. It also affects what you can run on your device, app wise, as these need tob be compatible and capable. For more info, this might be a good place to...

    Convenience Food

I like the image without the text best. It might be fun to try getting lower and taking shots from 'their' perspective... (you know, if they could see!) It looks slightly angled down in those shots.

    Critique Feedback on baby daughter

Oh my goodness, what a cutie! From an amateur perspective, i'd dial down the ISO. this will make the shots grainy and make them look not as sharp. If you're finding it too dark then you need to be in a better lit room, outside or get some lights set up. They're great pics, but I see what you...

    Lens Hire Question

Thanks both, I was looking to hire before buying, so the Nikon 105/2.8VR Macro is not really an alternative as it's double the price and out of my budget. I'd probably lust after it if I got the chance to use it then be a bit gutted that I couldn't own one. Thanks for the info though.

    Lens Hire Question

Going to hijack this thread with another hire question, sorry. Does anyone know where I can get a sigma 105mm lens for hire near Glasgow? Ideally over this weekend. I tried Wex-Calumet as i'd seen the offer 5 for 1 but it wasn't available.... I emailed them on Sunday, didn't hear anything, sent...
